The Stop Awarded Toronto Foundation’s New Vital Ideas & Leadership Grant

Scott & Volunteers-1

We are incredibly excited to share that The Stop is one of eight organizations in the city to receive the Vital Ideas & Leadership grant from Toronto Foundation!

The Stop will use this grant to implement key recommendations from the evaluation of our volunteer program. Specifically, we will develop an enhanced training program to address the gap that exists between participant volunteers and non-participant volunteers.

This grant, Building Social Cohesion in Toronto — One Volunteer at a Time, will support volunteers with different experiences and backgrounds in confronting stigma, biases, and assumptions, all with the goal of building stronger social solidarity among our volunteers, in spaces where they share a common purpose.

We know that this work is vital, especially in an increasingly divided city, because we know that we are stronger together.

Stay tuned for more details on the impacts of this grant on our work to build a healthier and more connected city.
