Food Leadership for Youth (FLY)
FLY is a cooking and wellness program for high-school girls at The Stop’s Green Barn, 601 Christie Street.
Cook tasty recipes, garden, learn new skills, make new friends, earn volunteer hours, gain leadership skills, and discover hidden talents. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm, your willingness to learn, an adventurous spirit, and your commitment! All skill levels are welcome, and the program is FREE. Space is limited and registration is required.
This is a free program at The Stop’s Green Barn for families that identify as low income, with hands-on cooking & growing activities and workshops designed for children ages 8 to 12. Registration is required and spaces are limited.
Participants will have an opportunity to:
- Learn to cook simple, delicious healthy snacks and meals;
- Learn about local healthy food, the environment, and food systems;
- Go on a sensory garden tasting tour;
- Grow and harvest food plants.
