Food For Change

Every month, The Stop’s acclaimed chef Chris Brown (Perigee, Group of 7 Chefs) presents an intimate dining experience savoured in the greenhouse of The Stop’s Green Barn in support of The Stop’s innovative programs that fight hunger, build health and community and inspire change.

Food for Change dates (click for menus):

Sept. 14: Childhood Meals. Five courses: $75 for meal only, $120 with wine pairings. Pairings by Rosewood Estates Winery.

Oct. 18: Harvest! Focus on world crops. Family-style: $45 for meal,  drinks extra. Beer by Flying Monkeys.

Nov. 15: From Sea to Sea. Five courses: $75 for meal only, $120 with wine pairings. Wine by Stratus Vineyards.

Dec. 20: Global Holiday Party. Family-style: $45 for meal, beverages sold separately. Start time 6:00 pm (reception), 6:30 pm (dinner).

Jan. 17: Tribute to Escoffier. Family-style: $45 for meal, beverages sold separately. Wine by Henry of Pelham, and beer by Black Oak.

Feb. 21: Carnivale. Family-style: $60 for meal, beverages sold separately. Wine by The Grange of Prince Edward County, and beer by Steam Whistle.

Mar. 21: Happy Birthday, Toronto! Family-style: $60 for meal, beverages sold separately. Beer by Amsterdam Brewery.

Apr. 25: Bubbie's Feast. Family-style: $60 for meal, beverages sold separately. Wine by Château des Charmes, beer by Amsterdam Brewery.

May 16: Babette's Feast. Family-style: $60 for meal, beverages sold separately. Wine by Henry of Pelham, beer by Creemore Springs.

June 27: From the Fire. Family-style: $60 for meal, beverages sold separately.

July 18: Veg. Five courses: $60 for meal, beverages sold separately.

August 15: Hillcrest Garden. Family-style: $60 for meal, beverages sold separately.

Food for Change dinners start with a reception at 6 pm, followed by dinner at 6:30 pm.

*Please note that we encourage kitchen crew participants to arrive by 5 pm so as to maximize time in the kitchen. Participants are able to sample all courses, they remain in the kitchen until all dishes are served, and are not seated in the dining room with the rest of the guests.
